  MusiKids CT Presents Kathy Brier & Friends - A Benefit Concert

Sunday, May 6th 2007 at 7:00pm. Starring Emmy Nominated Kathy Brier (also of Broadway?s Hairspray). Also featuring Kate Pazakis, Anne Steele, Colin Sheehan, and a Wagner College Student Ensemble.

MusiKids CT Inc. is a non-profit children's arts-in education organization that was established in 2003 by Colin Sheehan. MusiKids CT is intended to support the nurturing of musically talented students (4th-12th grades) by providing musical instruments, private lessons, camps, etc. to disadvantaged and diversely talented children with special needs. Another key component to MusiKids CT is bringing performing arts events to the community to further stimulate and enrich their lives. 100% of the proceeds raised from the event will go directly towards generating the growth and development of MusiKids CT Inc. a non-profit (501)(c)(3) charity.

Kathy Brier and Friends will include an evening of entertainment of Broadway songs and Kathy?s new CD Heartbreaker (released June 06? on Little Rock Records). Kathy can currently be seen as Marcie Walsh on ABC?s ?One Life To Live,? 2004 Supporting Actress Emmy Nomination. She can also be heard as the voice of Babalulu the clown on Jo Jo?s Circus, Disney Playhouse Channel and as the voice of Rosamond on the new animated series Nate The Great slated to air on PBS in the Fall of 2008. Broadway: Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray starring opposite Harvey Fierstein. Kathy originated the roles of Ron/Maggie in Off Broadway?s Bat Boy: The Musical. Other NY stage credits include The Actor?s Fund Benefit Concert of Hair, The Prince and the Pauper at The Lamb?s, O?Casey?s Knock at The Judith Anderson, Tango Ballad @ The Actor?s Studio and ?A Broadway Diva Christmas? at the Julia Miles Theatre. Regional: Fanny Brice (Funny Girl), Libby Tucker (I Oughta Be In Pictures), Rizzo (Grease) and Joy (Cinderella). Kathy grew up in Staten Island where she earned a B.S. in Arts Administration from Wagner College. Kathy?s solo debut CD Heartbreaker was recently released on Little Rock Records. At this performance, 50% of all of Ms. Brier?s CD Heartbreaker will go to MusiKids CT.

The benefit will also feature Kate Pazakis of the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas concert with Jennifer Hudson. Off Broadway her credits include A Broadway Diva Christmas Newsical. Her one woman show, The Sexless Years, was nominated for Best Musical Comedy and debuted at Ars Nova after a sold out three-month run. She has done many readings, recordings and workshops of new musicals. Currently Kate co-hosts "Mostly Sondheim" a weekly musical theater night with Marty Thomas and Brian Nash. Also featuring, Anne Steele?s vocal stylings have garnered her several honors. She won a Backstage Bistro Award, was nominated for a MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) Award (best debut), and was a two time finalist for Best Piano Bar Entertainer at the Nightlife Awards. Anne has appeared as far away as Switzerland, Germany, and the Caribbean. One summer in particular, Anne was the headliner at Montparnasse, the premier musical venue on the isle of Mykonos, Greece.Anne has also performed at Don?t Tell Mama?s or her regular engagement on Rosie O?Donnell?s ?R Family Vacations? Cruises, where she is a featured performer. Most recently, Anne was featured in the critically acclaimed Broadway Unplugged and Broadway Backwards where she performed along side Tony award winners.

As well as, Colin Sheehan, MusiKids CT, Inc. Founder/President. In 1999, he made many appearances on ?The Rosie O?Donnell Show? and traveled with Rosie to Universal Studios: Island of Adventure in Florida. In 2003, he made his Broadway debut by performing in the closing night production of Les Miserables. He has previously directed Broadway Babies, The Heart and Music Cabaret, Bye Bye Birdie, Colin?s Cabaret: Broadway?s Best!, Songs for a New World, and The First Christmas. Colin has enjoyed working and performing with Rosie O?Donnell?s company (R Family Vacations) since 2005.

Preshow performance by Poppi Kramer recently known as the "at home winner" on Season 3 of NBC's The Biggest Loser, has been doing stand-up comedy in NYC for over 10 years. She has performed at all the clubs, including Stand-Up NY, Carolines, Gotham, and The Comic Strip. 2007 brought Poppi her 4th straight M.A.C (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) award nomination for best Stand-Up comic. Other television credits include, E!, The Style Network, The Today Show, Extra, and The Montel Williams show. You may also have seen Poppi in the indie feature Dummy starring Adrien Brody. Prior to coming to NYC Poppi received her MFA in Acting from Ohio University, and currently entertains regularly at the downtown famous piano bar, The Duplex.

The concert will be performed in two (2) acts and also include an auction, raffle, and will be sure to be filled with memories and entertainment. The Musical Director for the concert will be Brian J. Nash, Production and General Management by Ray Wetmore.
